CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Game pieces still sealed. One lightly worn corner; otherwise like new – see photos.
DETAILS: Vintage mid-20th century Syrian/Damascus folding backgammon and chessboard handcrafted with intricate inlaid wood marquetry. Features Middle Eastern micro-mosaic geometric patterns and Moorish motifs, with mother-of-pearl diamond inlays accenting the chessboard border. Folds out from a rectangular box form, revealing the backgammon board inside and the chessboard on the exterior. Finished with an ornate brass latch. Included game pieces remain sealed in original packaging, along with two miniature dice. Exemplifies craftsmanship and artistry associated with traditional Damascus artisans.
