CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Paper shows light toning, appropriate with age – see photos
DETAILS: Mid-century Inuit lithograph of stonecut art print depicting a hunter throwing a harpoon at a seal. Image displays the frustrations of a broken harpoon. Signed and dated 1975 at the lower right by the artist. We believe this to be the work of Peter Morgan of Port Nouveau–Québec (later George River, now Kangiqsualujjuaq). Morgan was introduced to printmaking by his father-in-law, Tivi Etook, who participated in the 1972 Puvirnituq printmaking workshop. Ink and graphite on cream–ivory paper.
