DETAILS: Pleated black (slightly sheer) tunic dress with a curved lettuce-style bottom hem. Sleeveless style with a knit woven sleeve and neck trim. Hand-applied floral metallic appliques. Can be worn as a dress or a tunic; side slits go to upper thigh.

Janet Kaneko was an integral part of the Art to Wear movement championed by Sandra Sakata and her legendary San Francisco store Obiko. Kaneko fashions her pieces using antique fabrics and treating them to a wide array of techniques including pleating , shirring, puckering and hand tied shiburi.
