MATERIAL: Recycled Steel
CONDITION: Excellent condition with original purchase tags still attached. The steel surface shows natural variations in tone and texture consistent with the recycled material. Handcrafted, so minor irregularities are expected – see photos.
DETAILS: Artisan-made extra large shallow steel bowl or platter, hand-forged in Croix-des-Bouquets, the Haitian town renowned for its master metalsmiths. Crafted by Josnel Bruno, a student of famed sculptor Serge Jolimeau, and signed by the artist on the underside. Features an intricate fruit & vegetable organic intaglio design. Forged from a reclaimed oil drum using traditional techniques. The steel is hammered, punched, and incised with a burin (cold chisel), then sanded and varnished to achieve a luminous, textured finish.
