Antique 19th Cen. English Victorian Decoupage Campaign Lap Desk / Writing Slope
MATERIAL: Wood, Leather, Brass
CONDITION: Good antique condition. Wear consistent with age and use; hardware shows patina and should be opened with care. Decoupage is crazed and wood has split across the top. Leather is split across the fold and may need regluing – see photos.
DETAILS: Antique mid-19th century English Victorian-era campaign-style lap desk / portable writing slope in rosewood or mahogany with brass hardware. Features a green gilt-edged leather writing surface, hidden compartments and its original ink jar. Exterior is fully decoupaged with English fox hunting scenes of horses, hounds, and riders. A rare and collectible piece of history. Equipped with its original working lock and skeleton key.
